Well, I got some pictures and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! It's a 1999, and it's got like all the options, except perhaps a CD player. And when I said the interior was super clean, I meant it. The leather looks brand new. There's only one thing that's making me unsure whether I should buy it...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Let's just turn the key and check the odometer:
Oh crap that's a lot of miles. That's like, twice what I was expecting given the condition of the car. Aside from a scuff on the rear end (visible in the lead image), the body work is perfect, if a bit dirty, and so is the interior.
Whaddaya think? Should I pull the trigger and by an older, high mileage premium vehicle as just my third car ever?
Does anybody with CARFAX (or whatever) want to run this VIN for me?

High Mileage late model BMW sounds like a never ending stream of very very expensive repairs.

You said it would cost you 3k all in to get this running right? And thats if you dont uncover anything else. If you check ebaymotors for completed listings 1995-2003, there are a ton of these that didnt get bids for 3k with lower mileage.
I think you should walk away and buy a running one for less.

Do a compression test... if it's fine, then go for it.

It runs. Perfectly.

If there is nothing mechanically wrong with it, and it seems to have been well maintained, I say go for it.

The title matters, check for frame damage.

I bet you could buy it for the $600 they want, part it out, make a profit, then put the profits into a lower mileage car

I would walk away 100k miles ago. I think this car might be best used as an organ donor.
